When the environment gets tough, Safe Seal Wrap steps up. At the NSW Coal Port Shiploader, our Fire Retardant Shrink Wrap was put to the test — and it delivered outstanding performance throughout the project.
Delivered by our Australian distributor, Shrink Safe Containment, this major containment build supported essential blast and paint and structural integrity works. Over 400 tonnes of scaffold were meticulously installed by the experienced team at Rize Scaffold with huge help from Layher Australia, who built the structure that would later be fully encapsulated using 6,460m² of Shrink Wrap and Safe Seal products.
Once the scaffold was in place, Shrink Safe Containment took over, expertly wrapping the entire build using Safe Seal Fire Retardant Shrink Wrap. This high-performance material was chosen for its ability to meet strict fire safety standards while maintaining exceptional durability under pressure. Despite harsh site conditions — including winds between 60–90km/h — the wrap held firm, providing total containment for the full three-month duration.
But the wrap alone doesn’t do all the heavy lifting. The project also featured several key Safe Seal components designed for strength, flexibility, and site efficiency:
Safe Seal Tape – creating strong, weatherproof joins that maintained the enclosure’s integrity against wind and moisture.
Safe Seal Zipper Doors – allowing safe, easy access for workers while maintaining full containment.
Innovative Geo Membrane Flooring Solution – a new and exciting product soon to be officially introduced. This advanced flammable containment flooring combines smooth and treaded surfaces for grip and strength, offering a smarter, more durable alternative to traditional plywood or rubber membranes.
The flooring solution is particularly designed for containment applications like this — where safety, structure, and airtight performance matter most. It’s a practical, forward-thinking option for works such as blasting, painting, or asbestos containment, helping to reduce waste and enhance on-site efficiency.
Together, these products formed a complete Safe Seal system — one that not only protected workers and the environment but also kept the project on schedule through challenging coastal weather.
This project reflects the true power of collaboration — from Rize Scaffold’s precision installation and Shrink Safe Containment’s expert application to the reliability of Safe Seal’s engineered materials. It’s an excellent example of innovation, teamwork, and craftsmanship coming together to deliver high-performance containment under demanding industrial conditions.
We’re proud to see Safe Seal Wrap products continuing to set the benchmark for durability, safety, and quality across Australia and beyond.
